Support us through donations

There are a number of musical outlets within the City of London - lunchtime recitals, and the Lloyd’s of London choir to name just a couple - but this project brings opera to the Square Mile for the very first time.

As the City's very first opera company, we hope to reach new and young audiences who can enjoy live opera performed by up and coming local talent within the historical setting of the City and at affordable prices.

By investing in us, you are not only helping us bring wonderful music to the city, but you you are investing in our performers - all of whom have an incredibly exciting future ahead of them.

Every penny of your donation will go into creating and devloping a project that is worthwhile for so many

Founder’s Notes

Speak to any trained singer or performer who has moved into another line of work, and you are likely to hear that their passion for their discipline has never waned. Mine certainly didn't, but it was harder to find a musical outlet that would fit around my 'other life'.

With Opera in the City, it is my aim to provide those in a similar position as me, an opportunity to network and continue their development. Whether between singing work, education, or a full time job in another industry, Opera in the City is open to all who want to collaborate with other singers, continue their learning, and perform operatic works to new audiences in the City.

When we first put out a call to singers to audition, we were astounded at the level of talent and interest we received. During the auditions, we felt privileged to hear these singers and watch them perform. It was inspiring to see and hear that every single person we met had a thirst to be a part of something they could call their own.

Having had a few years of experience of working in the City, I know what wonderful access we have to music here but bringing opera to the city feels like the next natural step - the City is ready and so are we!

We’d love to hear from you!
